This two day highly practical course has been developed for practitioners who have some experience with abdominal ultrasound but are seeking guidance to reinforce their theoretical knowledge and structure their practical approach to a basic abdominal ultrasound. The course is also suitable for complete beginners as the workshop groups will be organised according to experience.

The two days will consist of lectures followed by practical scanning sessions.

Day 1

10:00 - 11:00 Ultrasonography of the liver, biliary system and spleen
11:00 - 11:30 Tea/Coffee break
11:30 - 12:30 Practical - liver, biliary system and spleen

13:30 - 14:15 Ultrasonography of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas
14:15 - 15:00 Practical - gastrointestinal tract and pancreas
15:00 - 15:30 Tea/Coffee break
15:30 - 17:00 Practical - day review and assisted free scanning

Day 2

09:00 - 10:00 Ultrasonography of the urinary tract
10:00 - 11:00 Practical - urinary tract
11:00 - 11:30 Tea/Coffee break
11:30 - 12:30 Ultrasonography of the adrenals, lymph nodes and peritoneum
12:30 - 13:30 Lunch
13:30 - 14:30 Practical - adrenals, lymph nodes and peritoneum
14:30 - 15:00 Ultrasonography of the reproductive tract
15:00 - 15:30 Tea/Coffee break
15:30 - 16:45 Practical - day review and assisted free scanning
16:45 - 17:00 Questions and receive course certificate
