This course aims to provide the practitioner with the knowledge and tools for a rabbit consultation. It will provide a refresher on basic rabbit physiology and husbandry before moving on to initial investigation, safe anaesthesia and formulating appropriate treatment plans. Common clinical conditions encountered will be covered including dentistry, gut stasis and infectious disease. Leaving the practitioner confident to treat this popular pet with a high standard of care.



Topics to be covered include: –

The rabbit consultation, including the ‘quiet rabbit’ presentation. Taking into account relevant anatomy and physiology
Basic investigations, including sampling and radiography
Dental disease, diagnosis, treatment and management
Safe anaesthesia
Infectious diseases and prevention
Gut stasis and its management.

Author of various book chapters and papers on a range of species<br /> <br /> Chairman of European Association of Avian Veterinarians and on editorial board of the Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine<br /> <br /> Vice-President of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association
