This two day lecture and case-based course will provide practitioners with an update on the diagnosis and management of the most important of emerging small animal infectious diseases. Led by fabulous speakers Michael Lappin from Colorado State University and Danièlle Gunn-Moore from University of Edinburgh and ably supported by a team of speakers from the RVC, the lecturers will provide the most current information on the diagnosis and treatment of significant small animal infectious diseases. Newer diagnostic tests such as PCR and the value of diagnostic panels will be discussed as well as the optimal drugs for each bug.

• Management of Giardia and Cryptosporidium infections
• Diagnosis and management of feline stomatitis
• Diagnosis and management of mycobacterial diseases
• Cats and bugs – diagnosis and management of important and emerging infectious diseases

• Helicobacter – of any significance?
• Hospital acquired infections – what are the big bad bugs?
• Risks and management of serious bacterial infections in hospitalised patients

• Update on viral diseases in cats – what’s new?
• Bugs in the lungs and airways – what’s important and what’s not?
• Diagnosing and managing Haemoplasma infections in dog and cats
