Emergency medicine is built upon a foundation of core principles and centres on the application of these principles to a wide array of emergency presentations. This course will cover some of the core principles with particular emphasis on the essential role of the veterinary nurse. We will then discuss the application of these principles in the early management of some common canine and feline emergencies such as cats hit by cars, dogs with GDV and blocked cats.
