Start time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Duration: 6 hour(s)

The introduction of a low iodine diet for hyperthyroidism, DOCP injections for hypoadrenocorticism, surgical options for hyperadrenocorticism, new insulin types for diabetes mellitus, and re-discovered common causes for diabetes mellitus, have made companion animal endocrinology a dynamic field in recent years.

This course will cover most of these recent issues in a series of dynamic lectures with plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions.

By focusing on the most common endocrinopathies, enough time can be spent on the real decisions all practitioners have to make on a daily basis when dealing with this type of patient.

After the course you will be able to make these decisions with more confidence, using the evidence based, logical approach provided by a lecturer who lives and breathes endocrinology on a daily basis in a busy clinical and clinical research environment.

The five key things delegates will learn from this course are:
* Choosing the right treatment option for the individual hyperthyroid cat
* The diagnosis and treatment options of hyperadrenocorticism
* The diagnosis and treatment options of hypoadrenocorticism
* Establishing the principles on which to base evidence-based diabetic management
* Acquiring an overall increase in confidence in dealing with the most common small animal endocrinology cases

Who is it for?

This course is an update that should appeal to equine/farm vets looking to change, vets working in industry, vets on a career break, new graduates or anyone who feels they could do with a boost in the endocrinology department.
