Are you ever handed an animal by a vet and asked, - will you take an x-ray of ...- This
one day practical course is designed to give you the confidence to produce a perfect,
diagnostic quality x-ray. We will discuss the science behind x-ray production, the physics
of mAs and kVp, and radiation safety. The focus will be on spotting common x-ray faults
and artefacts and knowing when to take another x-ray. There will be a practical
component to the course to help you with positioning and collimation for thorax and
abdomen, as well as skeletal views. We will also discuss radiographic interpretation;
using real x-rays to demonstrate common problems. Contrast radiography and other
imaging modalities will also be discussed.
