This course will help you to improve your practical nursing skills and allow you to confidently carry out some Schedule 3 procedures once you return to your practice. We will look at the practical application of bandages and dressings in small animal patients, including their use for traumatic wounds as well as post-operative dressings. A suturing session will cover the decisionmaking process relating to wound closure, together with suture materials, suture patterns and a ‘hands-on’ practical element.

By the end of the course delegates will be confident in:
· Asepsis and pre-op preparation of the patient
· Theatre design
· Suturing techniques
· Suturing practical session
· Biopsy techniques.
