Poisoning is relatively common in small animals, both witnessed and suspected. In many cases the poison implicated is not known and many poisons do not have specific antidotes. In this 45 minute CPD webcast for veterinary nurses, we will consider the various aspects of a general approach to the poisoned patient, including initial recommendations, gastrointestinal decontamination and management of neurotoxins. After listening to this webcast why not find out more about some of the most common poisons affecting dogs and cats in the webcast entitled \'Poisons: Some Common Ones\'.
