This 45 minute online vet nurse CPD course will give veterinary nurses information on what can be done in the pre operative period to ensure our patients receive the best possible care when they are hospitalized, whilst also achieving a good recovery and outcome following surgery.
We will look at the correct admittance procedure – how information can be gathered and the extra details that should be gained; along with selecting the best kennel position and environment for our patients. We will discuss premedication considerations for soft tissue patients, orthopaedic and also ophthalmic cases. Finally we will cover the preparation of the patient and surgical suite, including monitoring, anaesthetic and surgical equipment.
