Jobs for Veterinary Nurses

Registered Veterinary Nurse Full Time

Posted: Monday 31st July, 2017. 14:14:44

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered veterinary nurse to join our friendly and supportive team based in the beautiful cathedral town of Ely. Our well-equipped RCVS accredited small animal practice is located in the centre of Ely with great commuter links: well-served railway station and great access to M11, A1, A10, A14. Although it is limited we do have our own car park and it is supplemented by two free car parks to the front and rear of the surgery.

Our practice has a very varied caseload and high percentage of insured clients – a trend that continues to improve. We work very closely with our clients and the local community and testament to this is the high volume of wildlife charity work that we continue to see ranging from hedgehogs, foxes and deer to a lot of ducks, due to the long river frontage that Ely enjoys!

‘Captain Pugwash’ has also recently benefited from the close relationship we have with our local community. An old Tomcat, Captain Pugwash was living between several families. With the help of Ian, our JVP and lead vet, he now has a care timetable in place and has been fully looked after by our caring team, at no cost to the supportive families involved.

Our new colleague will therefore be joining a happy and committed team made up of 3 vets, 2 nurses, 1 vca, 4 receptionists and a practice manager. Our small but balanced nursing team work very closely together, are hardworking and passionate about what they do and will be able to support a new colleague at the start of their career. We fully encourage and support CPD, dedicating a personal CPD allowance to each of our colleagues as part of our fully comprehensive benefits package.

The hours required are full time, averaging 40 hours a week including 1 in 3 or 4 weekends, working 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, 9am – 1pm on Sundays. You will receive a day and half back in lieu the week after working the weekend rota. We offer a variety of shifts between 8am-4:30pm, 9am-5:30pm, 10am-6:30pm and 11am-7:30pm. We now also stay open late 3 days a week and therefore you will be required to work an occasional late shift, approximately 1 night shift every 4 weeks and also do very occasional OOH work supporting our graduate vets.

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care we offer a supportive and friendly working environment and in return for your hard work we can offer:

• CPD allowance (with support offered to nurses wishing to study towards a certificate)
• Competitive salary
• Company pension
• Colleague discounts (inc 20% off pets at Home)

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding healthcare, exceptional customer service and would like to join our team then please do not hesitate to contact us.
