The Practice
This 24-hour hospital, in South East London, has cert holders in ortho, soft tissue surgery, imaging, internal medicine, and endo surgery. With a huge lab, dental Xray, full imaging suite, specific ortho theatre, and a CT arriving in 2024.
There is a ward vet each day for the inpatients and a vast team of nurses to ease your day.
Role Accountabilities
You will be a strong, self-sufficient individual, capable of working independently and of providing leadership and guidance to the veterinary team by fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Your duties will include routine consultations, operations, fulfilling prescription requests, and answering client queries by email and on the phone.
You will have a passion for delivering clinic healthcare excellence to ensure that your clients and their pets receive the very highest standard care. Everyone is usually insured and there is plenty of opportunity to provide the highest level of care to their loyal client base.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed) or equivalent
- Registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
- Surgical skills for performing routine and complex procedures
- Knowledge of anaesthesia protocols and pain management
- Ability to provide compassionate care and ensure the well-being of animals
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience in using diagnostic equipment such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and blood analysers
- Ability to explain medical conditions and treatment plans clearly to clients with empathy and compassion
- Willingness to work collaboratively with other veterinary professionals, including veterinary nurses and support staff
- Critical thinking skills to diagnose complex cases, make informed treatment decisions, handle emergency cases and provide critical care to animals
- Adherence to high ethical standards in veterinary practice
