This newly renovated RCVS-accredited practice has over a century of history and is near the North Wessex Downs.
It has two operating rooms, an imaging suite with endoscopy, digital X-ray, and ultrasound. As well as a dedicated cardiac probe for their on-site cardiologist. Along with a dental theatre with dental x-rays, a dedicated and well-stocked lab, and separate cat and dog isolation wards.
In terms of the working environment, they foster a supportive atmosphere wherein vets are always available to assist. Whether you need orthopaedic support or other advanced procedures, they have a few certificate holders on-site. Crucially, they prioritise your experience and well-being in the practice’s clinical decision-making process over KPIs and financial targets.
They ensure everyone is still having a life outside of work with socially acceptable hours. Usually 8.45am to 5pm or 8.45am to 6pm, with one half day per week usually being 8.30am to 1pm (additional Friday half day following a weekend on call), and one on-call day 8.30am to 6.30pm (nurse on duty takes the on-call phone). As they provide their own out-of-hours service, the rota involves covering 1 in 6 weekends, Saturday mornings, and usually 1 weekday night.
Your salary is dependent on experience but ranges from £35k (new graduate) up to £67k+. A generous CPD allowance with no set cap and certificates supported and fully funded, a practice membership with Webinar Vet, and a dedicated large meeting space in practice mainly used for in-house training events and CPD. There’s also the option of a large and newly decorated accommodation as part of the salary package.
