“I Hear What You Say” with Geoff Little MVB MRCVS and Christine Magrath BVMS Hon FRCVS will mark the launch of a new series of free CPD webinars for equine vets later this month.
Hosted by the Webinar Vet and sponsored by MSD Animal Health the new monthly series is set to provide a range of webinars covering clinical as well as personal development and practice management, says webinar founder Anthony Chadwick MRCVS.
“The first webinar will address communication skills,” says Anthony. “This is particularly important for practice harmony, more effective consultations and client compliance, resulting in healthier patients and more satisfied,” he says. “An important topic for all practising vets, as well as supporting staff, and not just those in equine!”
Key speakers throughout the series include Dr Richard Newton of the Animal Health Trust, Dr Tim Brazil, Equine Medicine on the Move and Bourton Vale Equine Clinic, Gloucestershire, and Dr Shaun McKane of Cotts Equine Hospital, covering immerging infectious disease threats, inflammatory airway disease and eye abnormalities seen at pre purchase exam respectively. Emily Haggett, associate at Newmarket based Rossdales, will complete the series with her webinar on Foal Sepsis.
“Webinars provide a valuable source of easily accessible educational material, explains Anthony. “Our members are recording an average of over 60 hours of online CPD a year, and many are completing over 100 hours of total CPD per annum. The great thing about webinars is that no one has to leave their office. But this doesn’t just apply to the delegates – it’s also great for the presenters too, and has enabled us to secure some very high quality people!” he adds.
The first webinar takes place at 8pm on 24th September and continues monthly until February. Once registered, for those who cannot attend, get a call out, or just need to refer back to an issue, the recordings can be accessed at any time afterwards
