BEVA has introduced a new Webcast service to make the 2011 BEVA Congress lectures easily accessible to those who were unable to attend as well as a great refresher for those who were. Sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, sponsor of the BEVA Congress Encore Room, the Webcasts are available at a discounted cost to all BEVA members. They are also available, at full cost, to non-members. BEVA Congress is run annually in the UK over four days during September. The internationally renowned Science Programme is spread over three days, with five in-depth programmes running concurrently to ensure there is something to benefit everyone. The Pfizer Encore Room was very well-received when it was introduced at Congress last year. It solved the problem of delegates having to forgo some lectures in favour of others running at the same time by providing a flexible, online playback service at the event. The new Webcast service takes this facility a stage further. It provides worldwide online access to the full BEVA Congress Science Programme, at any time, for both members and non-members alike. David Mountford, CEO at BEVA, said: “Our Webcasting service is a great leap forward for the dissemination of veterinary knowledge, thanks to the cooperation of our speakers and to Pfizer’s continuing generosity. It gives any vet, anywhere in the world the chance to take advantage of the extensive 2011 Congress programme even if they couldn’t attend the event. It also gives those that did attend the 2011 Congress the flexibility to re-listen to any lectures that were of particular interest.” The Webcasts, produced by Public-i in association with Vetstream, are being released monthly in blocks of 11, with the first block having been issued at the beginning of March. BEVA members will be alerted via the regular BEVA E-Newsletter, while non-member vets will be sent a one-off email to alert them to the new service. This year’s BEVA Congress runs from 12 – 15 September 2012 at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham.
