Staff cutting ribbon at entrance to new practice May saw the opening of the 220th Joint Venture Practice to open under the Vets4Pets and Companion Care umbrella, with another two due to open as Companion Care practices within Pets at Home stores by mid June and a healthy scedule of openings over the next few months. The Carlisle practice, branded as a Vets4Pets which has been opened by 7 years qualified Vet Surgeon Lisa Bensley, shows the great sucess the Joint Venture Partnership model has had over the last couple years. “I wanted to open my own practice so that I could to offer the standard of care I would want for my own pet. There are always so many frustrations when working for someone else in their practice.” Explains Lisa. Just like any new business opening a new practice can be tough, but very rewarding; Lisa adds; “I never felt in any way pressured and did not feel tied in to it [the Partnership] until I wanted to be. Vets4Pets were always completely honest about everything and did not try to hide anything from me. It was so exciting opening on the first day, my colleagues were almost more excited than me and we were all looking forward to the new challenges ahead. Although it is hard work and stressful at times Vets4Pets have made it as easy as opening a brand new practice could ever be”. Since the merger in April, Vets4Pets and Companion Care teams have been working hard to ensure business as usual and making sure new Partner’s practice openings are not affected and remain on schedule. “Since recieveing the news in April, all of our colleagues from both companies have done a great job in continuing to work to the high standards our Partners are used to. It great to see that none of the planned openings have been affected by the buy out at all, if anything the new larger support teams has meant that our newest Partners have really benefitted from opening their practices at this time.” Ian Monteith, Head of Partnerships North. Lisa provides some advice to her fellow professionals; “I really feel that Vets4Pets and Companion Care practices are the future, people are looking for a step up in veterinary care and services which I feel we can provide. It is so much more affordable than you would think and getting that business loan and the whole journey is made so easy. There is always someone on the end of the phone who will help with any problem and you are supported by so many people, experienced in their specific fields, covering any area you may need in your business “. If any Veterinary professionals would like to open their own practice like Lisa, they can contact the Joint Venture Partnership team on 0800 0280 513 or via email [email protected] for an informal chat.
