Three delegates experienced their own ‘golden moment’ after scooping top prizes at the launch of Dechra’s next generation antibiotic wound spray.

Vet Sarah Lewin, from Coomara Veterinary Practice, near Carlisle in Cumbria, veterinary nurse Laura Gregory from Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons in Newmarket, and equine vet Adelle Bowden, who works at Scarsdale Vets with branches in Burton on Trent and Derby, each won a gold bar in the competition at Dechra’s stand at the recent British Equine Veterinary Association Congress.

The trio all took part in a Dechra-developed interactive game on a giant screen to find three golden cans of TAF Spray® and won daily rounds of the competition at the three-day event in Liverpool, winning a 10g gold bar worth around £250.

Dechra hosted the competition to highlight the unique benefits of TAF Spray®, the only antibiotic wound spray licensed for use on horses.

Dechra Brand Manager Emma Jennings said: “There was huge interest in TAF Spray® among the equine community because of the unique aspects of the product. And we were delighted to see that reflected in the number of people taking part in our virtual scratchcard competition at Congress.

“With its golden yellow, turmeric-based, colouring that allows treatment areas to be clearly distinguished and its 360-degree spray allowing users to target wounds at any angle, it will be a big asset to those working in the field.”

TAF Spray® comes in a 150 ml can and can be used for superficial wound infections in horses, cattle, goats, sheep and pigs. It can also be used to treat infections of the claw and hoof in cattle, goats and sheep such as foot rot, interdigital dermatitis and digital dermatitis.

TAF Spray® has a zero day meat withdrawal period for horses, cattle, goats, sheep, and 14 days for pigs.
