The six sessions will run at venues across the UK as part of the company's ongoing commitment to supporting the development of veterinary professionals. The face-to-face events, available to book online, will focus on the diagnostic issues and management options available in the treatment of canine hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's syndrome). Veterinary Technical Services Manager Greg Williams said: “From our work with veterinary professionals, we know that hyperadrenocorticism can be challenging to diagnose, with many dogs not presenting with the classic clinical signs. “Diagnosis is based on a combination of history, clinical examination findings, routine laboratory test results, diagnostic imaging findings, and the results of confirmatory endocrine diagnostic tests. Although a common canine endocrinopathy, Cushing's syndrome can often mimic non-adrenal disorders and test results are sometimes inconclusive. “The CPD events are free of charge and intended to support veterinary professionals faced with these issues, and help develop protocols in general practice as well as addressing both medical and surgical options for the management of hyperadrenocorticism.” The speaker will be a veterinary surgeon from the Dechra Technical Services team, who has a wealth of experience in supporting veterinary professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of hyperadrenocorticism. The events will be held at venues in Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London and Edinburgh. Mr Williams added: “The presenter will be able to offer case study evidence of successful diagnosis and management of the condition, offer helpful advice and tips and will be available to answer any questions veterinary professionals attending may have.” The sessions will be worth two hours of CPD and will be held on:Registration is at 7pm, following by a light buffet supper at 7.30pm before the start of the session at 8pm. Places can be reserved by visiting www.dechra.co.uk/cpdevents by emailing [email protected] or by telephoning (01939) 211200
