Helen Molyneux RVN holding a dog Helen Molyneux RVN, bursary winner Helen Molyneux RVN, Head Nurse at Warrington-based Rees Veterinary Centre, has been awarded a Kennel Club Charitable Trust bursary of £1,000 towards the tuition fees for a Diploma in Clinical Veterinary Nursing. It was presented to her by Mike Townsend, the Kennel Club Charitable Trust Chairman, at the recent BVNA Congress. Helen began her career in veterinary nursing in 2001 and has a particular interest in anaesthesia and critical care. She gained her Certificate in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in 2013. She is also a qualified Pet Health Counsellor and a Clinical Coach to student nurses at the CVS-owned practice. Commenting on the award of the Kennel Club bursary, she said: "I have just begun studying for my Advanced Nursing Diploma and am proud to have been awarded the bursary as only three are given each year. It will also be of great practical help, enabling me to concentrate on my studies without worrying about tuition fees. Reading the references from my colleagues at Rees Veterinary Centre and within CVS who kindly supported my application made me very proud and I now want to pass the Diploma for them as much as for me." Mike Townsend, Chairman of the Kennel Club Charitable Trust, said: “The Kennel Club Charitable Trust has funded Veterinary Nursing Bursaries since 1987 to help defray the costs associated with degree and diploma training. Both students and qualified veterinary nurses are eligible to gain assistance with their studies and continuing professional development with the help of a bursary from the Trust. Congratulations to Helen and CVS on being awarded this bursary. We wish her all the best with her further studies.”
