Dechra Laboratory Services stand at BSAVA Dechra Laboratory Services stand at BSAVA Two leading UK veterinary laboratories have hailed a re-branding project a major success after launching new identities at BSAVA World Congress. More than 1,000 veterinary professionals from across the globe visited the stands of Dechra Laboratory Services and Dechra Specialist Laboratories during the four-day event in Birmingham. Previously NationWide Laboratories Poulton, Swanscombe and Leeds and Cambridge Specialist Laboratory Services , the re-brand was launched to coincide with investments to further improve services to customers. Managing Director of Dechra Laboratory Services, Dr Peter Graham, said: “We were delighted at how the re-branding has been received, not only by delegates at BSAVA but also by the veterinary profession generally. “Although we have been part of the services division of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC for several years, it made sense to re-brand at the same time as we were developing our offering to customers. This integration will add value to our business and to our clients, and their feedback at Congress was very positive. “The re-brand was particularly welcomed by delegates from Denmark, Sweden and Belgium, all familiar with Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC and keen to know more about what we, as a diagnostic lab, could deliver for them. “We also had a positive response from UK vets, nurses and practice managers, keen to understand more about the breadth of services we offer.” Dechra Specialist Laboratories also received a positive response to its new branding, handing out more than 120 information packs to UK-based vets, as well as brochures to foreign visitors. Dechra Laboratory Services offers the full range of veterinary diagnostic and clinical pathology services including biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, endocrinology, immunology, molecular biology, histology, cytology and necropsy. In addition to veterinary support, Dechra Laboratory Services also offers services in food microbiology, water microbiology, external quality assessments, emergency vaccine production and environmental screening. Dechra Specialist Laboratories offers a highly detailed range of immunoassays across a broad spectrum of species providing detailed results. Dr Graham added: “BSAVA World Congress was a great success for us, allowing us to reassure customers face-to face that our excellent reputation for delivery will not only be maintained but improved. Many delegates have asked us to contact them in the near future to discuss our services in more detail and we won new business from practices for our external lab services at the event.” It is estimated that Dechra Laboratory Services received around 1,000 visitors to its stand at Congress, where 408 competition entry forms were collected for a prize draw. Two Kindle e-readers and two digital cameras have been won by four winners, with prizes being delivered in this next month. The company has invested in a new IT system, which includes laboratory information management systems, as well as staff training ahead of the changeover.
