Dechra Veterinary Products will be launching a new series of case studies at VetsNorth2013 as part of its successful Time to Change campaign. Focusing on skin disease, the case studies are the latest additions to a growing library of support material for vets and vet nurses interested in the Time to Change campaign, which was launched by Dechra amid a growing concern surrounding the issues of antimicrobial resistance. Time to Change aims to support veterinary professionals through a holistic best practice approach to managing skin and ear disease. Dechra Veterinary Products, which will be welcoming delegates to the Dechra stand at the Manchester event, is also a main sponsor of VetsNorth, supporting all of the dermatology sessions and workshops. Senior brand manager at Dechra Veterinary Products, Larry King, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the VetsNorth conference once again and the team is looking forward to meeting visitors at the event. “We are also pleased to be able to demonstrate our support for the continued professional development of veterinary professionals by sponsoring clinical stream lectures being led by Sue Paterson over the two days.” Among the sessions being presented by Referral Dermatologist Sue Paterson MA, VetMB, DVD, DipECVD, MRCVS, RCVS and European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology, are: management of multiply-resistant infections in canine pyoderma; therapy of dermatophytosis and an interactive cytology workshop on the nurses’ role in ear disease. Larry added: “The Time to Change campaign was developed to provide assistance for vets and nurses in diagnosing the organisms associated with skin and ear disease, support in choosing the correct approach to control as well as help in educating owners to apply and use topical antibiotic treatments correctly, thereby improving owner compliance. “The latest campaign support materials are being launched at VetsNorth, and include three new case studies focusing on ventral pyoderma, pedal pruritus and facial pruritus. The case studies form part of our Itch Support Kit which also includes a best practice pruritus case management chart.” For further information on the Time to Change campaign, please visit www.dechra.com/timetochange
