DVS Announce Two New Directors And Two New ECVS Diploma Holders

Davies Veterinary Specialists (DVS), the UK’s leading multi-specialist small animal referral centre based on the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire border, have appointed two new directors to the board and also announced that two members of staff have recently achieved the ECVS Diploma. Ian Battersby is an RCVS and European Veterinary Specialist in Internal Medicine and has been a part of the practice’s Internal Medicine service for the past five years. Ronan Doyle is an RCVS and European Veterinary Specialist in small animal surgery. He has been with DVS for the past five years and has led the Soft Tissue Surgery Team since 2009. . Ian and Ronan set up an Interventional Radiology Service at DVS last year, following a comprehensive research trip to the University of Pennsylvania and the Animal Medical Centre in New York. DVS can now offer a range of novel minimally invasive (or pin hole) surgery techniques which reduce morbidity or allow management of previously untreatable conditions. Davies Veterinary Specialists employs the highest number of RCVS Recognised Specialists and European Veterinary Specialists to be found in any one practice in the UK. Both Soft Tissue Surgeon Aidan McAlinden and Orthopaedic Surgeon Manuel Jiminéz Peláez have recently achieved the European College of Veterinary Surgery (ECVS) Diploma in Small Animal Surgery.
