Finalists Announced In Inaugural Petplan Animal Charity Awards

Greyhound Rescue West of England Greyhound Rescue West of England Petplan, the UK’s largest pet insurer, is pleased to announce the finalists for the brand new 2013 Petplan and Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) Animal Charity Awards. In its first ever year, the awards celebrate the outstanding work of animal charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK. The awards are the brainchild of Petplan, in association with the ADCH, and recognise the hard work, dedication and commitment of charity teams, volunteers and employees. Fairly Beloved Rabbits Fairly Beloved Rabbits The finalists for each of the categories are: Animal Charity Team of the Year Caring for Cats Yorkshire & Humber, York Fairly Beloved Rabbit Care, Glasgow Greyhound Rescue West of England, Somerset Animal Charity Volunteer of the Year Alan Shields, Hope Rescue, South Glamorgan David & Sandy Bailey, Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, Bristol Marguerite Cain, National Animal Welfare Trust, Clacton Animal Charity Employee of the Year Emma Darch & Sam Gratton, National Animal Welfare Trust, Somerset Kate Wickins, Wood Green Animal Shelter, London Sarah Connolly, Paws Animal Rescue, County Tipperary Caring for Cats Caring for Cats Awards logoSimon Masding, Petplan’s head of sales and partnerships added, “Animal wellbeing is central to all we do at Petplan. We work with over 1,500 animal charities and give over £2million to assist them every year. The Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards is another way for us to support and recognise the teams and individuals at charities dedicated to improving the lives of animals. We’re delighted that these new awards have got off to a fantastic start with over 3,400 nominations from adopters, supporters, charity staff and volunteers.” Winners will be announced on the 2nd May in an awards ceremony in Stratford-upon-Avon.
