Ketosis has become somewhat of a hot topic in the dairy industry recently. Now cattle vets can register for a FREE three-session webinar on the topic to take place in January, February and March, courtesy of Elanco Animal Health at http://www.bovineketosis.co.uk
It’s recognised that 30 per cent of dairy cows are likely to experience subclinical ketosis in the first 50 days of lactation and the condition is associated with reduced milk yields, impaired fertility and depressed immunity.
The first webinar takes place on Thursday 31st January 2013 at 6pm and will be presented by Mike Steele. Attendees will learn about the consequences of ketosis and find out how to monitor and evaluate herds to identify at-risk animals. The second and third sessions take place on 28th February and 21st March and while building on the learning in previous webinars, they can also be viewed as stand-alone sessions.
These informative webinars are sure to be invaluable in helping vets understand more about what promises to be the most talked about dairy disease of 2013.
