Distinguished career in animal health recognised
Mr Gethyn Roberts, Territory Manager for Virbac covering Wales, has spoken of his delight at being awarded a ‘Recognition of Service’ Award at this year’s BSAVA Congress. The awards, created in 2012, recognise the contribution made by individuals to BSAVA Congress over a long period.
Gethyn has worked as a Territory Manager in the animal health sector for 32 years, joining Virbac two years ago. During a long career he has built relationships with every veterinary practice in Wales. He was nominated for the award by Mr Rob Long, a former colleague.
Commenting, Gethyn Roberts said: “I was overjoyed to receive the award and just sad not to be able to collect it in person as I was receiving a ‘Virbac Ambassador’ award the same evening in France! I have thoroughly enjoyed my long career in animal health, not least because I’ve been able to build strong relationships with all the practices in Wales. I’ve also been lucky enough to have worked with some great colleagues over the years - both on the road and back in the office. This has made my work a pleasure - it is a team effort after all!”
Mr David Ellerton, Managing Director of Virbac, commented: “Our business is built on forging successful partnerships with veterinary practices based on the knowledge and professionalism of our staff. These are attributes that Gethyn has demonstrated time and time again over a long career and it’s clear that his customers and colleagues all really enjoy working with him. We congratulate him on receiving the BSAVA award and are delighted to have him on our team.”
