London Vet Show has confirmed its specialist content from referral and diagnostics’ centres and commercial sponsors at this year’s conference. In addition to the strong core content from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), which has been strengthened by the British Veterinary Association (BVA) streams, IDEXX Laboratories and Fitzpatrick Referrals have brought together top specialist speakers who are global key opinion leaders, to present on a wide variety of topics that are relevant to all veterinary professionals. These include presentations by Dr Dennis DeNicola, Chief Veterinary Educator at IDEXX, Dr Guillermo Couto, Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and Veterinary Medical Center at the Ohio State University, Dr Stan Marks, Professor in Internal Medicine at UC Davis, California and Susan Randell from IDEXX UK. Masterclasses focus on haematology, oncology, gastroenterology, a back-to-basics session on endocrinology and recent advances in feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) diagnostics. The Fitzpatrick Learning Academy will feature presentations from Nick Bacon, Senior Oncological Consultant at Fitzpatrick Referrals, Professor Roberto LaRagione, Head of the Department of Pathology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Surrey and Paddy Mannion, European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and Diagnostic Imaging Consultant at Cambridge Radiology Referrals. They will focus on a range of interesting cancer and diagnostics topics. Stuart Carmichael, Director at Fitzpatrick Referrals, Clare Rusbridge, Chief of Neurology at Fitzpatrick Referrals, Mike Farrell, Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon at Fitzpatrick Referrals and Noel Fitzpatrick, Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Orthopaedics and Director of Fitzpatrick Referrals will also present sessions on orthopedics and neurology. “The IDEXX Academic Stream Case Challenge series is a real highlight! The discussion amongst the panel of experts—and interaction with the audience—brings new insights into the blood profiles that we use each and every working day,” says Graham Bilbrough, MA VetMB CertVA MRCVS, Medical Affairs Manager, Conference Education, IDEXX Laboratories.
