Members Of CVS Referrals Teams Add New Qualifications

Two veterinary surgeons working in CVS Referral Centres have been awarded the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery. Mr Gordon Brown, Referrals Director at Grove Referrals in Fakenham, Norfolk, and Mr Mark Morton, orthopaedic surgeon at ChesterGates Veterinary Referrals in Chester, have both completed their Diplomas and thanked CVS for the support it has given them in order to achieve the qualification.
Gordon Brown commented: “I was keen to attain as high a level of expertise in my field as I could. The RCVS Diploma demands extensive study and commitment and CVS was hugely supportive. I could not have considered taking the Diploma without its help and that of my family and colleagues, both at Grove Referrals and at Willows Referrals. Grove’s Referral practice has undoubtedly gained significantly from my experience and from the knowledge and expertise I have gained during the journey. On a personal note, the experience has simply been both the most challenging and satisfying undertaking of my professional career.”
Mark Morton said: “I have been working towards the qualification for a number of years and am grateful to ChesterGates and to CVS for allowing me study leave to prepare for the exams. Working at ChesterGates - and previously at Davies Veterinary Specialists where I completed my residency - has provided me with experience of a wide range of orthopaedic cases, ranging from routine to complex. Being able to draw on this experience was very beneficial in the exam. “
