Following a very successful VPMA Congress in January this year, specialist event organiser Mojo Consultancy has been awarded the contract for VPMA Congress for the next two years, for the 2012 and 2013 events. The 2011 January conference for veterinary practice managers saw delegate numbers significantly increase and visitors attracted from overseas for the first time.
The congress programme, put together by Mojo, attracted practice members from managers to owners, as well as assistants wanting to learn more about setting up their own practice. The two day programme took a new shape with three streams dedicated to ‘New Starters’, ‘Experienced’ and ‘Personal and team development’, the last of which was packed out each day and described as ‘inspirational’ by many of the delegates. The vibrant social programme focused on networking and included a lively cocktail masterclass evening and a four course banquet, as well as a formal networking event.
Mojo director Libby Sheridan commented, ‘The VPMA President, Rebekka Fiorani, briefed us to take the congress to the next level and make it a high profile practice management CPD event with a reputation for quality. At the same time, it was important to bring together the membership and profession for networking and to provide inspiration and motivation. Judging by the very positive response from both delegates and exhibitors, we were successful in achieving all those goals. As well as injecting vitality, we were also able to shift the event from the red into the black, ensuring its long-term future and continued evolution. We look forward to surprising and delighting delegates by ‘upping the ante’ of the event again next year.’
