Two leading UK veterinary laboratories are to reveal new identities at BSAVA World Congress. NationWide Laboratories is re-branding as Dechra Laboratory Services as it invests in changes aimed at further improving its services for customers. The name change, which is being officially unveiled at Congress in April, will be accompanied by the launch of a new website and on-going service re-branding throughout 2012. As well as NationWide Laboratories Poulton, Swanscombe and Leeds becoming Dechra Laboratory Services, sister company Cambridge Specialist Laboratory Services will become Dechra Specialist Laboratories. The companies are independent veterinary laboratories dedicated to the improvement of animal health through direct support of veterinary practices, both in the UK and abroad. They became part of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC in 2002, with NWL and CSLS part of Dechra's services division. Managing director of Dechra Laboratory Services, Dr Peter GrahamManaging Director of Dechra Laboratory Services, Dr Peter Graham, said: “We pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive service, adhering to the highest standards of quality and offering services and support in the most approachable, supportive manner. This will continue to be the case under our new identity and we're delighted to be announcing our new name at BSAVA Congress. “It makes sense to bring all of the businesses together under the main corporate brand at this time, when we are investing in developing our services. Re-branding will allow us to become more integrated into Dechra PLC which will add value not only to our business, but also the veterinary professionals we support with other products and services in the company portfolio.” The company has invested in a new IT system, which includes laboratory information management systems, as well as staff training ahead of the changeover. Dr Graham added: “These are all positive changes for our business and we'd like to invite visitors at Congress to come and see us on stands 307 Dechra Laboratory Services and 416 Dechra Specialist Laboratories. We are looking forward to meeting with delegates to explain how the change will further improve our services to customers.” Dechra Laboratory Services will continue to offer the full range of veterinary diagnostic and clinical pathology services including biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, endocrinology, immunology, molecular biology, histology, cytology and necropsy. In addition to veterinary support, Dechra Laboratory Services also offers services in food microbiology, water microbiology, external quality assessments, emergency vaccine production and environmental screening.
