The European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS) has made two new appointments in order to provide a higher level of support, both to its lecturers and to its candidates.

In the first appointment, Mrs Dale Ford PGCE PGDE MEd has been promoted to Assessment and Partnership Manager for the UK and Scandinavia.  Previously UK Exam Coordinator at ESVPS, she will focus on devising new assessment methods, providing academic support, particularly with academic writing and to ensure that candidates with learning differences have equal access to assessments.  Dale Ford has worked in education since 2004.  She completed a Masters degree in Education in 2014 with distinction before joining ESVPS in 2015.

In the second appointment, Miss Georgia Stone BCI BVMedSci has joined ESVPS as its new UK Examination Coordinator. Georgia Stone has a first degree in Creative Industries and a second degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences. Prior to joining ESVPS, she was Care Manager for a large hedgehog rescue, a role which involved her in educating the UK general public about hedgehogs and caring for up to 200 of them at a time.

In her new role, she will introduce the assessment requirements to new candidates and be their main contact throughout their award.

In the UK, ESVPS works closely with Improve International which delivers the modular training for its Certificate programmes. Improve has a 20-year track record in providing structured continuing professional development (CPD) to veterinary professionals. ESVPS also works with Harper Adams University which provides the higher education body quality assurance. In Europe, it partners with Evidensia, the largest veterinary group in the Nordic region.

Commenting on her appointment, Dale Ford said: “I’m looking forward to supporting our candidates and lecturers with my teaching, learning and assessment experience and to strengthening the relationship with our partners Improve International UK, Harper Adams University and Evidensia.”

Georgia Stone added: “I am hoping my veterinary background and combination of experience and qualifications will enable me to encourage our candidates and to enhance their learning experience. I am looking forward to meeting candidates and ESVPS partners throughout the UK and Scandinavia."

ESVPS is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2003 to provide attainable, balanced qualifications for veterinary practitioners working in full-time practice. The ESVPS Academic Board comprises fifty members who are Diplomates of UK, European or USA Veterinary Colleges, or are similarly qualified or recognised specialists, active in clinical practice.  The Academic Board sets and evaluates all course work, formulates the final examinations, reviews the conduct of examination and determines the final examination results.
