New Market Study Seeks To Understand Cattle Parasite Control Practices
An online questionnaire aimed at understanding preferred treatment methods and products used to manage parasite control in cattle will be open on Monday 13th February.
Large animal veterinary surgeons, beef farmers and Suitably Qualified Persons (SQPs) across the UK and Ireland are invited to complete the survey, created by Cambridge-based marketing research consultancy, Bax Interaction. The survey link will run from Monday, February 13th 2017 for one week, with a prize draw giving one respondent the chance of winning £500/€500 for completing it.
Steve Bax, Managing Director at Bax Interaction says the survey, which seeks responses on various elements of parasite control, including cattle worming practices and liver fluke control, will provide valuable insights into the ways in which the industry manages parasite control.
“With the wide range of products available on the market, we recognise that farmers, veterinary surgeons and SQPs often select different products to treat their herds. Through the survey, we hope to gather evidence on when individuals choose to treat and which products they prefer to use.”
Steve added: “Parasite infestations such as gutworms and lungworms can severely impact beef herds, affecting health, growth, reproduction and productivity – resulting in significant economic losses.
“Information gathered from this market study will prove useful in understanding how parasite control strategies are implemented within the industry and help us to consider how to avoid the costly effects.”
The survey will be available online at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/cattleparasitecontrol from February 13th until February 20th, 2017 with a prize draw of £500/€500 on offer; this will be awarded to one winner drawn at random after the closing date.
