London, February 22nd, 2011 - Hill’s Pet Nutrition declined the opportunity to rent a stand in the commercial exhibition at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress this year. “It’s easy to fall into the same old habits and routines. In fact, it can be enormously comforting to predict that in the year ahead, one will deliver, and probably receive, expected results. We don’t think that’s really quite good enough. So, we made the difficult and very conscious decision to question what we do and challenge how we think about the way we do business,” said Blake Hawley, DVM and Managing Director at Hill’s Pet Nutrition. However, Hill’s will continue to support BSAVA and help provide a great experience for people attending the Congress. Hill’s will be located within the STRADA restaurant in Birmingham from Thursday 31st March to Sunday 3rd April (http://www.strada.co.uk/locations#Birmingham-ICC). We encourage veterinarians and nurses to drop by between 10 am and 6 pm for a chat, some free Italian food, coffee, or a glass of beer or wine. Hill’s will mark the new way of thinking in other areas, too. “We have exciting plans for some really novel approaches to driving clinic footfall. We are currently running a national advertising campaign and sponsoring the Pet Professors at www.facebook.com/petprofessors.. We are embracing change in nearly everything we do,” Hawley said. The company’s dedication to continuous learning remains the same, but takes on a new emphasis this year with the free Hill’s Feline webinar series; a focus on championing the Fifth Vital Assessment at www.everypeteverytime.com with both students and recent graduates. Hill’s will also continue to sponsor many nurse and veterinary CE events. Cutting edge products are predicted to emerge as a result of continued investment in ground-breaking research that will benefit pets through dietary management of diseases. Of note is our industry-leading Nutrigenomics research, which helped us improve Hill’s Prescription Diet j/d and was key in the development and launch of Hill’s Prescription Diet r/d canine. “Do come and see us at Strada, whether it’s just for a quick cup of coffee; to meet up with colleagues and the Hill’s team; or to find out more about our latest products and programmes,” Hawley said. “You will find a different, reinvigorated Hill’s. We're excited about the future of the veterinary profession and the chance to prove it you.”
