The British Veterinary Nursing Association and Hill’sTM Pet Nutrition, organisers of the Northern Ireland Veterinary Nurse of the Year award, are accepting nominations for this year’s winners.
Now in its fifth year, the awards ceremony is a prestigious and well established event in the veterinary calendar, which will be part of the Gala Banquet at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and the BVNA, NI Congress in Limavady.
A new category: Charity Vet Nurse of the Year was added this year to the existing categories: NI Vet Nurse of the Year; NI ANA of the Year and NI Trainee Nurse of the Year.
This award is for veterinary nurses who have made outstanding contributions to animal charities. The winner could be employed by a charity, raised funds for a local charity, worked as a volunteer or supported a charity’s work in some other way.
Although all veterinary nurses work hard in a demanding and rewarding profession, previous winners have clearly shown exceptional commitment to their clients, patients and also other animals and their owners within their community.
This year’s Vet Nurse of the Year winner will receive a trophy and a gift voucher for £250. Winners in the other categories will receive a £100 prize.
To nominate a nurse, practice staff or clients can fill in entry forms that can be displayed in practices. Additional forms are available from the BVNA, the VetNI website and Hill’s Pet Nutrition (0800 282438). All entries must be received by 26th March 2012. 2406 views
