Northern Ireland Veterinary Nurses Have Got Talent - Nominations For BVNA Northern Ireland NI Veterinary Nurse Of The Year 2013 Now Open

The winners will be announced at the gala dinner of NI BSAVA Congress 31st May – 1st June at the Armagh City Hotel, Armagh; the highlight of the local profession’s social calendar. According to the latest RCVS Survey of the Veterinary and Veterinary Nursing Profession, nurses on average are working longer hours for 30% less pay than their counterparts who have left the profession. Yet veterinary nurses continue to form the back-bone of practices with their dedication, skill and compassion for both patients and clients. Some individuals in particular show remarkable talent in their job, whether it’s putting personal safety aside and saving a locum from a ferocious feral, or being the practice pot of sunshine that lights up the workplace on a daily basis! It’s these veterinary nurses that deserve recognition, and now is your chance to do just that. There are four categories for which you can nominate an outstanding colleague, NI Vet Nurse of the Year, NI ANA of the Year, NI Trainee Nurse of the Year and NI Charity Vet Nurse of the Year. This last award is for the nurse who has made the most contribution to animal charity, whether they are directly employed by one, volunteers or has been involved in fund raising. The winner of NI Vet Nurse of the year will receive a trophy plus £250 worth of gift vouchers, winners of the other categories will receive £100 of gift vouchers. Nominations can be made by vets, practice staff and clients. Forms are available from the BVNA, the VetNI website www.vetni.co.uk and Hills Pet Nutrition (0800 282438) and should be displayed in practices. All entries must be received by 31st March.
