‘Animal Rescue Live: Supervet Special’ sponsorship highlights the brand’s dedication to supporting animal charities and their rehoming efforts across the UK

Petplan, the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider has announced its sponsorship of Channel 4’s Animal Rescue Live: Supervet Special. The nationwide show will be broadcast live across five consecutive days from Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter and will highlight the number of pets in need of homes in the UK, seeking to inspire the British public to give much-needed homes to pets.

Hosted by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and Channel 4 presenter Steve Jones, the show will be broadcast from, Monday 7th August, whilst Kate Quilton will act as roving reporter, bringing updates of additional adoptions in real-time as they occur at rescue centres across the UK.

The sponsorship of the show forms part of Petplan’s wider sponsorship of channel 4 programming strand ‘Pets on 4’. With strong charity credentials; including £3 million annual donations to animal rehoming centres; four weeks’ free Petplan insurance for every re-homed pet; and the creation of the Petplan Charitable Trust, which has to date awarded over £8million in grants to help improve the lives of animals, the TV partnership further reinforces the brand’s dedication to ensuring the welfare of all pets in the UK.

James Barnes, Head of Sales and Partnerships at Petplan, comments: “Petplan is already associated with 1,200 UK rehoming centres and has long term partnerships with all of the leading British animal charities, making the ‘Animal Rescue Live: Supervet Special’ partnership a natural collaboration. At Petplan we have a commitment to ensuring all animals receive the care they deserve; by working with these organisations we can ensure that this is made possible.”

Petplan’s logo will appear on the idents at the beginning of the show and at the beginning of the ad break.

Rob Ramsey, Channel 4’s Partnership Leader commented : “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Petplan to support this unique and worthy cause. It’s another great example of how we are able to build on a commercial sponsorship by integrating Petplan’s core values into our editorial output.”
