Author: Hills

With 2,500 Veterinarians now registered to attend the Hill’s Feline Webinar series, demand for one of the 1,000 places at each of the 8.30 pm events is heating up. Anyone who wants to watch one of the remaining three free webinars is advised to register as soon as possible. Luckily, the ‘watch again’ feature means that anyone who has registered but isn’t able to participate at the scheduled time, can view the presentation in its entirety at a time that best suits them.

Feline specialist Martha Cannon BA VetMB DSAM (Fel) proved to be a popular speaker on 2nd March. Her talk went straight to the heart of the two questions every owner asks when their cat is diagnosed with kidney disease: “How bad is it?” and “How long does my cat have to live?”

As clinicians know, those questions can be extremely hard to answer. This is a disease in which progression can vary widely. Using a case-based approach and a little audience participation, Martha introduced the IRIS staging system as a way to structure an approach to treatment and to help answer those difficult questions.

You can watch Martha’s talk again at www.thewebinarvet.com/hills-webinars or sign up to the rest of the series at www.thewebinarvet.com/hills.

Martha returns to deliver the next Hill’s webinar on Chronic Diarrhoea on 4th May. Norman Johnston BVM&S, Dipl. AVDC, Dipl. EVDC, MRCVS, will be discussing stomatitis in the cat on the 18th May and the series ends on 8th June with Duncan Lascelles BSc, BVSc, PhD, CertVA, DSAS (ST), DECVS, DACVS, Associate Professor in Small Animal Surgery at North Carolina State, talking about osteoarthritis in the cat.
