ROYAL CANIN® has appointed John O’Connor as its new Veterinary Marketing Manager for UK & Ireland at its head office in Castle Cary.

John’s new role involves managing and developing the ROYAL CANIN® veterinary brand as well as ensuring new product launches are communicated to managers, training teams and the wider veterinary market. His time will also be spent managing the ROYAL CANIN® Weight Management Team, driving further awareness of this significant health concern for the pet population and working in the field to gather wider knowledge of the UK veterinary market.

John has worked at ROYAL CANIN® for more than ten years and has spent the last six years as Regional Sales Manager in Ireland. Prior to this he built a wealth of experience in clinical practice after graduating from University College Dublin with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2000, working initially in mixed practice before spending four years in an orthopaedic referral hospital in Dublin. He has served on the Veterinary Ireland Companion Animal Society national committee for the past five years and recently assumed the position of President of Veterinary Ireland.

John commented: “My new role will allow me to share my experiences with the team at ROYAL CANIN® and ensure we maintain and enhance our reputation among veterinary professionals across the UK and Ireland. I am particularly looking forward to spending time in the field to further develop my knowledge of the UK veterinary market and creating plans to launch some of our most innovative products yet.”
