Sort fact from fiction when treating diabetic felines
What do you feed your feline diabetic cases? The condition presents many unique challenges – from immediate stabilisation through to diagnosis and management – so Royal Canin is hosting a webinar which aims to guide vets and vet nurses on the management and long-term care of diabetic cats.
Starting at 8.30pm on Wednesday 18th June, the hour long webinar will be delivered by Grant Petrie MRCVS, past president of BSAVA who is now running a diabetes referral service from two London practices. Joined by Ian Williams MRCVS, of Royal Canin’s Scientific Communications team, Grant will explore the protocol for diabetic patients, the considerations particular to obligate carnivores and practical tips for both client and patient care.
Ian Williams explained: “Feline diabetes presents a variety of unique challenges, and treatment simply can’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. In this webinar, we’ll be highlighting the need to understand the variations required in patient care, and look at the complex relationship between diet, blood glucose, insulin and the spectrum that we see in practice of resistance through to sensitivity.”
Any vet or nurse interested in attending the webinar can register for free by visiting www.royalcanin.co.uk/diabeticcat. Participants will receive a 1.5 hour CPD certificate which can be downloaded online. Royal Canin webinars are easy to join – all you need is a computer equipped with speakers.
Royal Canin’s wide ranging nutritional solutions includes veterinary diets for diabetic felines, available in wet and dry formats.3642 views
