The Saddle Research Trust has received the accolade of the publication of a review of its recent International Conference and Research Workshop in the Equine Veterinary Education journal, the official education journal of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) http://bit.ly/1MKAzcs.

Horses, Saddles and Riders - Applying the Science, by Professor Hilary Clayton, Dr Sue Dyson, Professor Pat Harris and Anne Bondi, is a six-page review of the papers presented at the Saddle Research Trust International Conference and Research Workshop last November 2014.1 The public conference attracted around 400 delegates from many quarters of the equestrian industry, to hear the world’s leading veterinary and scientific experts in this area discuss and debate the latest research on saddle-related equine welfare and performance issues.

The Conference, which is only the second of its kind ever held, saw vets, saddlers and equine therapists joining professional riders and trainers as well as leisure owners and riders to hear international experts share their vast experience. The public conference day was followed by a two-day researchers’ workshop where leading scientists in the field of horse, saddle and rider interactions were invited to debate their cutting edge research. The entire event, which was sponsored by World Horse Welfare, the British Equestrian Federation, Amerigo Saddles, Albion Saddlemakers and Horse & Hound magazine, was hailed a highly important step in the sharing of knowledge and expertise for the good of the horse by the sponsors.

By kind permission of the editor of the Equine Veterinary Education Journal, the review of the Saddle Research Trust Conference and Research Workshop has been made freely available. The PDF. Document can be downloaded at www.saddleresearchtrust.com or email [email protected].

The SRT 3rd International Conference will be held on Saturday 2nd December 2017, with the Researchers' Workshop following on Sun/Mon 3/4th December 2017. Further details will be published shortly.
