Simon Boulton MRCVS has been appointed Marketing Manager for the companion animal sector at Virbac UK. He has been promoted to this new position from his current role as a Senior Product Manager managing the company’s Vaccine, antibiotic, anaesthetic and diagnostics ranges along with Virbagen Omega, Soloxine and Tiacil.
Simon Boulton qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004 and worked in practice for three years before moving into industry. He joined Virbac in 2010. During his time as Product Manager, he launched CaniLeish, the first vaccine for Leishmaniosis licensed for use in Europe.
He also created Virbac’s ‘Parvo-Alert’ campaign, which includes a range of Canine parvovirus (CPV) educational materials for practices to use with owners and @parvoalert, a twitter feed that updates followers on the geographic location of cases of CPV. The service has attracted wide support and has already warned of more than 100 cases. Virbac offers Virbagen Omega, the veterinary interferon-based treatment for CPV and Speed Parvo FC, a rapid in-house diagnostic test for the disease.
As Marketing Manager, Simon will be responsible for the development of marketing programmes and initiatives across Virbac’s companion animal product range, working with the Product Management team.
Chris Liggett, Marketing Director, commented: “Simon has demonstrated a breadth of commercial vision and understanding since joining Virbac. His campaigns have proved consistently popular with practices because he understands the importance of providing eye-catching but practical support which they can use to educate clients and build loyalty. In his new role, he will be bringing the benefits of his creative flair to our entire companion animal range.”
Simon Boulton added: “While all practices are operating in challenging times, they have different needs and require individual levels of support. Tools such as our recently launched online portal ‘My Virbac’ have been specifically created to address this but there is always more we can do to tailor the level of support we provide to each of our customers and this will be one of my first priorities.”2671 views
