SPILLERS® Win Equestrian Social Media Award

SPILLERS® have won an Equestrian Social Media Award (ESMA) for the best use of Facebook. The award, which was announced today, is in recognition of their campaign in which they donated feed to Redwings Horse Sanctuary in return for every new SPILLERS® fan on Facebook they received.

The campaign ran from August to November 2010, with SPILLERS® donating 1kg of feed for every new fan. It resulted in Redwings receiving a lorry load of 18 tonnes of free feed to help keep their very deserving horses and ponies in great shape over the winter.

SPILLERS® brand assistant Rachel Austin, who was the mastermind behind the campaign, said: “We are all extremely proud to have won this award. We are delighted to have been able to help such an admirable charity during a particularly tough winter, by engaging the support of the UK’s dedicated horse lovers. Social media is a powerful tool and we are delighted that our campaign has been recognised in this way.”

Redwings is the largest horse sanctuary in the UK. It has over 1100 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules in its direct care and another 500 living in guardian homes around the UK. The charity has eight centres in the UK including three visitor centres in Essex, Norfolk and Warwickshire.

For friendly feeding advice please telephone the SPILLERS® Care-Line on + 44 (0)1908 226626 or send an email to careline@spillers-feeds.com. For further information visit the SPILLERS® website at www.spillers-feeds.com or join Team SPILLERS® on Facebook.
