Royal Canin and Zoetis logosSPVS and VPMA in partnership with Zoetis and Royal Canin will run a one day course on Stress management on 18th March at Staverton Park, Daventry. Caroline Crowe will describe techniques and skills to combat the impact of stress at work and build resilience. This course will be of benefit to anyone who feels their working environment is more stressful than it should be or who wants to improve the working environment for those they work with. Pressure is good, but stress is bad, and that applies to individuals and those they manage. This highly participative course will outline the differences between pressure, stress and burnout with an introduction to DISC behavioural profiling in order to understand yourself and others better. This tool can improve effective communication, reduce misunderstanding and help with the stress of working with others. By the end of the workshop delegates will understand why a resilient approach to work can benefit both the practice and the individual, describe what causes stress and how this affects health and performance, identify personal signs and symptoms of stress and recognise these in others and know what is meant by personal effectiveness and how you can improve your own. The day will start at 10:00 and finish at 16:30. CPD certificates, lunch and refreshments are included. The course costs £190 for SPVS/VPMA members or £265 for non-members . For further details, or to register for the event, visit www.spvs-vpma-events.co.uk or call 01453 872 731.
