Studio Bovine, an intitiative of Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health, has recently been launched in order to webcast via a dedicated online TV channel (www.studiobovine.com). Registered viewers can watch exclusive interviews with leading experts on ruminant health and productivity at the 26th World Buiatrics Congress (WBC) which will take place from November 14-18, 2010 in Santiago, Chile.

After a successful launch earlier this year (with Studio Recharge) at an international veterinary conference in New Zealand, Studio Bovine has been established as an ‘umbrella’ website for webcasting interviews and video contributions that have been recorded during international veterinary congresses on ruminant (cattle, sheep, goats) health. Studio Bovine will allow veterinarians and other professionals with an interest in cattle to benefit from the insights, latest findings and best practices in ruminant health. In addition, the interactive features will allow visitors to the site to comment and discuss on the posted interviews and contributions.

The interviews will be conducted in various languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Dutch). One of the moderators, Annemieke de Keijzer (New Media Specialist at Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health), says: “Using social media facilitates the dissemination of relevant information from this meeting to our customers in a convenient and engaging format. Studio Bovine has been designed to meet our customers’ need for information. It allows all people with an interest in bovine health to view the congress highlights in a condensed format at a time that suits them.”

According to Rinse Jan Boersma (Global Marketing Director, Udder Health at Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health) Studio Bovine is expected to deliver an interesting program. He added: “We will run interviews on a variety of interesting and relevant subjects for ruminant veterinarians, including emerging diseases, mastitis, lameness, sheep health, sustainability and reproduction.”

This year's World Buiatrics Congress will bring together over 2,000 veterinarians to exchange ideas and receive the latest information and insights from international experts on the buiatrics practice. The congress includes a comprehensive trade exhibition as well as a first rate scientific program about breakthroughs in areas ranging from bovine genetics, reproduction, handling, nutrition and meat and dairy including udder health and bovine respiratory health. For more information on the congress, visit www.wbc2010.com.
