Professor Dick White from Dick White Referrals will deliver ‘steps to success’ lectures on soft tissue surgery topics pre-selected by delegates in three CPD sessions during the visit while leisure time will be spent experiencing salmon fishing on the River Midfjardara, known in Iceland as ‘The Queen of the Rivers’. Improve International is one of the UK’s leading private providers of veterinary CPD and runs courses in a variety of formats in venues across the UK and Europe with tutors selected for their expertise in their field. Delegates for the ‘Surgery and Salmon’ CPD will fly to Reykjavik on Thursday 22 August, returning on Monday 26 August. Commenting on the trip, David Babington MRVCS, Managing Director of Improve International, said: “This is a great opportunity to combine some small group instruction in small animal surgery with world class fly fishing for Atlantic salmon. Both Dick White and I are keen fishermen as are many other vets. Places on this trip are strictly limited to 12 people and we hope to organise a pre-trip session this summer for all delegates in the UK so that we can practice casting!” Based near Swindon, Improve International was founded in 1998 by veterinary surgeons from across the UK, including a number of recognised experts. It provides a wide range of high quality CPD range for veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and practice managers to help them develop their skills and knowledge, using a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and where, applicable, hands-on practical sessions.
