A banner created by a staff member from veterinary recruitment specialists SynergyVets for the Tour of Britain Cycling Race caught the eye of Sir Bradley Wiggins recently.
Stage Five of the race, which took place on 9 September, involved competitors cycling from Exmouth to Exeter and the start of the route took them right past the offices of SynergyVets in Exmouth. Paul Sharpe, Resourcer at the firm, created the banner freehand to show support for Sir Bradley the night before the race and he and his colleagues then tied it to scaffolding.
SynergyVets Manager Steve Cartwright said: "It just so happened that the Team Sky van was parked outside our office. Bradley saw the banner and loved it so asked one of his team to come over to us and see if he could have it to take home and put in his garage.
"In return for the banner, he gave us a signed cap - his own personal cap - and we had some photos taken with him with the banner next to the Team Sky van. He was a great guy and we were all delighted to meet him."
