University Challenge at Glasgow University Challenge people at Glasgow and Edinburgh Uni's The valiant team who undertook Onswitch's University Challenge charity cycle have now raised over £2,000 for Canine Partners, with donations still coming in. Something of an annual event for Onswitch, it's fair to day that this year’s charity cycle was truly awesome - a gruelling ride around all eight Veterinary Universities in the UK and Ireland, covering 835 miles in just four days. Setting off from Edinburgh on October 3rd, the core team consisted of Donald Lambert and Adam Parke from Onswitch, along with Roger Hobill, Richard James, Mike Brampton and Wallace Campbell. Rita Dingwall, Susie Coughlin, Carolyne and Ollie Crowe, Graham Milligan, Dan Brockman and Ian Janes joined them for parts of the route. The Onswitch bus Bertha also accompanied the riders, serving as a rather plush support vehicle, with navigation and coffee making ably supplied by Andy. The epic ride finished in style at Nottingham on the 6th of October, where the team were humbled to meet Alan, Lesley and their canine partner Troy, reminding everyone why the funds raised are just so crucial, and are literally changing lives for the better. Alison Lambert, Managing Director of Onswitch commented: "We had so much support from the universities and students along the way, who supplied a very welcome selection of drinks, cakes, pizzas and bacon butties at each stop. Thank you to everyone who has donated or supported this event in any way - it's still not too late to donate and help us reach our target of £3,000! Please visit www.justgiving.com/teamonswitch or text ONSW99 followed by the amount you are donating to 70070. Thank you!"
