Watercolour card example Equine welfare charity The Horse Trust launched a new range of Christmas gifts, including cards, notecards and pens. The charity, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, cares for around 90 rescued, abandoned and retired working horses, ponies and donkeys at its sanctuary in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. The Horse Trust has produced two packs of notecards, both of which include 10 cards with two different designs. One set of limited edition notecards features colourful sketches depicting life at the sanctuary, in celebration of the charity's 125th anniversary. The other set of notecards features two images of working horses by contemporary artist Jeremy Houghton, who has taken part in various prestigious exhibitions and has painted two portraits of HM The Queen. Both packs of notecards come with envelopes and are priced at £5.00. Also available is a pack of blank cards with an image of HM The Queen's carriage and horses by Jeremy Houghton. A pack of 10 cards with envelopes is priced at £5.00. Other new gift items include a Horse Trust-branded pen, priced at £1.50, and "Chestnut", a cuddly toy horse priced at £9.99, which is now available with the new Horse Trust logo. "We are delighted to launch this new range of products, which would be a great stocking filler for the horse lover in your family," said Susan Lewis, Marketing Manager at The Horse Trust. "All proceeds from the gift items will go towards our work with rescue cases and retired working horses the sanctuary." Earlier this year, the charity launched its new range of Christmas cards and 2012 calendar. Christmas cards are available in two designs - the first card features a painting by Jeremy Houghton of the Household Cavalry's Life Guards in their winter coats; the second card features retired Riding for the Disabled pony Sean standing in a snowy field at The Horse Trust. Both cards are 174mm x 118mm and cost £4 for a pack of 10. The Horse Trust's 2012 Calendar, which is now in a square format, features 12 of the horses living at the sanctuary, including retired Thames Valley Police horse Titan, Spindles Farm rescue horses, and Shetland pony Little Thomas. The calendar is 305mm x 305mm and costs £7.99. All items can be purchased by downloading an order form from The Horse Trust's website. They can also be purchased by contacting the charity on 01494 488 464, or by visiting the sanctuary, which is open 2-4pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Postage and packing for all items is £2.
