The Pet Show logo The Pet Show has teamed up with Medivet, The Veterinary Partnership, to offer visitors to the show unparalleled free access to qualified vets. The Medivet team will be bringing Simon Pudsey, Head Vet and partner at Medivet, Coventry, as well as other members of the team, who will offer visitors who bring their canine companions a free and professional ‘Dog MOT’. The health check will be available on the Medivet stand at the show, which takes place on 20th-21st July at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. The aim will be to give a broad overview of your dog’s health, highlighting any potential issues and recommending further consultation if necessary. Most dogs are, of course, expected to be awarded a clean bill of health, giving owners peace of mind. The Medivet stand at the Warwickshire-based show will also feature the opportunity for budding young vets to try out their skills - on a six-foot teddy bear! Children will be invited to don vet uniforms and perform an ‘operation’ on their ‘patient’, who will of course also be closely attended by qualified professionals. Erica Starling, Marketing Manager for Medivet, said that the aim of the stand was to ‘raise awareness about best practice in caring for your pets. Medivet is dedicated to high quality pet care. We want pet owners to be reassured about the health of their dog by briefly consulting one of our vets. The aim of the ‘Operate on Teddy’ area of the stand is to increase engagement and involvement in the profession among younger visitors. We are passionate about what we do and we want to instil that passion into the next generation of veterinarians. The ‘operation’ they’ll be carrying out helps us to inspire them to look further into a potential career within our profession.’ Ian Sear, Director of The Pet Show, said: ‘Medivet’s stand at the show is set to be a huge highlight for anyone coming with either children or their pet dog! ‘We’re really looking forward to what promises to be one of the show’s most engaging exhibits. Medivet’s dedication to both passing on best practice to consumers and working hard to inspire the next generation of vets is great to see and we’re delighted they are bringing their hard-working professionals along with them.’
