The Raystede Centre For Animal Welfare, In Ringmer, East Sussex Wins £500 From Petplan

The Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, in Ringmer, East Sussex, has won a valuable £500 donation from the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider, Petplan.

Founded in 1952, the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare works to help prevent cruelty to animals thanks to dedicated volunteers and generous donations.

With over 1,500 unwanted and abandoned animals from horses to chipmunks arriving at the centre annually, Raystede intend to use the Petplan donation towards veterinary care and treatment.

Nigel Mason, CEO of Raystede, said “It feels good to have won this money. As with most charities, we always need money to help provide our valuable services to both people and animals.”

Petplan works with more re-homing charities than any other insurer to help fund the care of thousands of homeless cats and dogs. They offer four weeks free insurance to every owner adopting pets through the shelters it supports and also offers free insurance vouchers to visitors and supporters of the charities. Each month a prize draw is held from all the insurance vouchers issued and one charity benefits from the prize fund.

Carl Stephens, Communications Manager for Petplan says, “We are pleased to be able to provide this donation to the Raystede Centre, they do a fantastic job caring for animals in the community. We also understand what a difficult time it can be re-homing an animal and are glad to offer new owners 4 weeks free cover to give them this extra peace of mind during the first few weeks of their pet’s life in a new environment. Petplan is committed to aiding the valuable work that re-homing shelters do. Charities such as Battersea, Cats Protection, Blue Cross and Dogs Trust are just a few of those that have benefited.
