Thyforon_flav packshot Eurovet Animal Health has announced the arrival of Thyforon® Flavoured, which replaces the company’s hypothyroid treatment Forthyron®. As well as having the same clinical efficacy of Forthyron® – clinicians won’t have to make any dose adjustments when transitioning to Thyforon® Flavoured – the new product comes with some added extras such as palatable tablets and a new 800 mcg size. Forthyron® was one of the first products to appear in Eurovet Animal Health’s portfolio when the UK operation opened for business. It is now a well established brand known for its easy break tablets that make dose adjustment straight forward and a blister pack presentation which is easy to dispense. Those features have been retained in Thyforon® with a few added ‘bells and whistles’. From the client’s perspective, the Thyforon® Flavoured palatable tablet formulation offers the significant benefit of being voluntarily accepted by over 70 per cent of dogs in taste trials.1 And the new 800 mcg formulation gives vet more prescribing options, particularly for the treatment of large and giant breeds. Thyforon® Flavoured is available now – the person responsible for placing the practice drug order should simply ask for Thyforon® Flavoured when placing the next drug order and where appropriate, the practice management system should be updated to reflect the new name.
