Tickets have gone on sale for the UK's largest indoor and outdoor family pet show, taking place on July 20th - 21st at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. The Pet Show logoWith more varieties of animals, exhibitors and displays than any other multi-pet related event in the UK, the show is expecting to attract 20,000 visitors at its debut outing later this year. As tickets go on sale, organisers have also announced their official charity partners for the upcoming show. Four charity partners, each representing a zone at the show, will work alongside the organisers over the course of the next few months in preparation for the show. Following a long selection process, the chosen charities are The British Hen Welfare Trust, Wood Green, The Animals Charity, The Pet Education Trust and The British Horse Society. All charity partners will benefit from ticket sales. A percentage of every ticket sold via their own website will go towards helping them continue their vital work. Show Director, Ian Sear said: “We decided earlier this year that we would like to partner with a number of charities for the inaugural show. I'm really looking forward to working with our chosen charity partners. They are fully committed to the show and the fact that they are representative of the sections at the show, make them a great fit.” Speaking about the partnership, Chief Executive at Wood Green, The Animals Charity, Dennis Baker, said: “Interest in this year's show is increasing all the time, so this is the ideal time for us to be partnering with the show. Working with The Pet Show will help us raise our profile for taking in unwanted and lost animals and helping them find secure and loving homes as well as giving us the opportunity to promote our key messages relating to responsible pet ownership.” Also commenting on the partnership, Jane Howarth, Founder of The British Hen Welfare Trust, said: ‘We are delighted to be a charity partner. As a relatively young charity, the partnership will help us raise important awareness and educational messages about hen welfare. The British Hen Welfare Trust finds homes for around 60,000 ex commercial hens each year which would otherwise go to slaughter at the end of their commercial lives. Working with The Pet Show will help us to encourage more people to think about keeping chickens as pets and will hopefully help us find even more homes next year.” The show will be a pet bonanza packed full of hundreds of different attractions; sponsors for the 2013 show confirmed to date include James Wellbeloved and Royal Canin and a number of unique events are set to take place at the show, including The Dog Agility Open Grand Finals 2013. Further information about the show will be released over the coming weeks. To purchase tickets, visit www.thepetshow.co.uk or telephone 0844 581 4965.
